Overview
Residence by investment is a government programme. The applicant places a qualifying sum in the host economy — a company, a fund, a property, a government bond, or a statutory contribution — and receives a residence permit for the family.
The permit is not a passport. It is the right to live in that country, to send children to school there, and, on the European routes, to travel for short stays across the Schengen Area. Citizenship, where it exists, is a later application under ordinary nationality law. The investment must usually be held for as long as the permit is renewed.
Most of the programmes we file do not ask the family to spend a set number of days in the country in order to keep the card. They do ask for a clean record, a documented source of funds, and an investment that matches the statute.
