EB-5 is the United States immigrant-investor category. The investor places capital in a new commercial enterprise that creates at least ten jobs for qualifying US workers. Most families use a USCIS-designated regional center in a Targeted Employment Area.
The current TEA minimum is USD 800,000. Filings made before 30 September 2026 lock that amount in for the life of the case. A CPI adjustment is expected in 2027.
Approval of Form I-526E leads to a two-year conditional green card. Form I-829 later removes the conditions.
